About Us
Hi! I’m Jess - the heart (and the hands, and the treat-pocket) behind this little pet care Derby business. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and now I get to spend my days doing what makes me happiest: caring for dogs and all sorts of wonderful small pets.
I’m a big believer that every animal deserves patience, kindness, and a whole lot of love — especially the nervous ones. Shy pups, unsure rescues, or pets who need a slower, softer approach are some of my absolute favourites to work with. There’s nothing better than earning the trust of a worried little face and watching their confidence grow.
Whether I’m out on an adventure with a bouncy group of dogs, providing my dog walking services, giving a shy pup a gentle one-to-one walk, or checking in on your furry, feathery, or tiny-pawed pets at home during pet home visits, I treat each one as if they were my own. Your pets become part of my extended family — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
If tails are wagging, whiskers are twitching, or little noses are wiggling, I’m right where I belong.

Solo Walks
For pups who prefer a quieter adventure, our dog walking services are perfect. Whether they’re a bit nervous, require special care, or simply enjoy one-on-one attention, these solo walks are tailored entirely to your dog’s pace and personality.
Group Walks
Perfect for social butterflies! Our dog walking services provide an opportunity for your dog to enjoy a fun, energizing walk with a small group of friendly pups. We explore safe routes, play games, and enjoy plenty of sniff-time. This is great for confidence building and burning off extra energy.
Homevisits
Not just for dogs — I’m also experienced with cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, and other small animals. My pet care Derby services include home visits that involve feeding, providing fresh water, cuddles, playtime, and any little extras your pet needs to stay happy while you’re away. This is perfect for pets who love the comfort of their own home.

Step One
If you choose to enquire about our dog walking services at Happy Tails & Trails, you can do this via messenger or phone call. Please let me know what service you require, along with your location, and I will first see if I can accommodate your dog.
Step Two
We will arrange a Meet & Greet for my dog walking services. This isn't anything formal; it's just an opportunity for me to introduce myself to you and your dog(s). We can discuss in detail all the walking arrangements, discover your dog's quirks, and find out what your dog loves the most. It's also a great chance for you to ask any questions you may hae.
Step Three
Congratulations on making the bestest decision by joining Happy Tail Adventures!! Your dog will be very happy joining our happy tail adventures. Next comes the paperwork, which is the boring bit, but it shouldn’t take long!
Step Four
The first walk with our dog walking services is always a solo session, as this allows us to build a one-on-one relationship. This also gives me a great opportunity to match your dog's personality with suitable friends.
